  9.   MacSEE is a utility that will allow you to read/write Macintosh format
  10. diskettes on your PC. This includes 1.44 MB High Density Macintosh
  11. diskettes and Macintosh hard disks including SyQuest removable hard drives
  12. formatted on a Mac. It does not include 800K Mac disks as a standard PC
  13. floppy drive can't make heads or tails of what is written on those
  14. disks.
  15.   Please note that this unregistered version 2.1 is being released into
  16. Shareware as a demonstration version. It adds a few bug fixes and features
  17. to version 2.0 (also shareware) and may be freely distributed provided that
  18. all files included remain intact and unmodified.
  19.   If you find this utility of use to you then you are required to register
  20. it or purchase the commercial version 3.0. Otherwise please remove it from
  21. your system. Registration entitles you to the registered version of MacSEE,
  22. which removes any advertisements placed within, printed documentation, and
  23. copies of our other Shareware utilities to try out. The registration fee is
  24. $35.00. The benefits of the commercial version will be listed later.

  26. Using MacSEE for DOS -
  27.   After loading MacSEE you will be presented by a title screen notifying
  28. you about registration requirements. Press any key as you read this
  29. information and once completed any drives that can support Mac disks
  30. (including hard drives with Mac disks present) will be available. Selections
  31. of drives and folders are made with the arrow keys and RETURN or ENTER to
  32. indicate that the selected item is correct.
  33.   Mac files will be listed in the left window and PC files will be
  34. listed in the right window. To transfer a file from one side to the
  35. other just highlight that file (use the arrow keys to navigate through
  36. all the files) and press ENTER or RETURN. Depending upon the direction
  37. you are transferring the file a translation file will be created and then
  38. the file will be copied to the other side (or vice versa).
  39.   When tranferring a file an intermediate file is created for translation
  40. purposes. It is therefore necessary to have enough disk space available
  41. in the hard disk directory MacSEE was loaded from to support this
  42. translation file.
  43.   Translation modes are selected by pressing T for Translation. This
  44. Shareware version only supports 2 modes of translation. MacBinary II and
  45. Data. MacBinary II is used to keep Mac pertinent information intact
  46. within the file (use it if you obtain a file from an on-line
  47. service while using a PC and then you want to transfer it to a
  48. Mac disk to use), or data (use this if you want the file to make some
  49. degree of sense on the PC side of things...e.g. pictures, audio files...etc).

  51. Using MacSEE for Windows -
  52.   After loading MacSEE you will be presented by a title screen notifying

  54. information and once completed any drives that can support Mac disks
  55. (including hard drives with Mac disks present) will be available. Selections
  56. of drives and folders are made by clicking on them with the mouse cursor.
  57.   Mac files will be listed in the left window and PC files will be
  58. listed in the right window. To transfer a file from one side to the
  59. other just highlight that file (use the arrow keys to navigate through
  60. all the files) and click >> Copy >> to transfer to the PC or << Copy << to
  61. transfer to the Macintosh (note the arrows are used as directional
  62. indicators).
  63.   Translation modes are selected by clicking on the down arrow to
  64. the right of the ComboBox above the Quit button. This
  65. Shareware version only supports 2 modes of translation. MacBinary II and
  66. Data. MacBinary II is used to keep Mac pertinent information intact
  67. within the file (use it if you obtain a file from an on-line
  68. service while using a PC and then you want to transfer it to a
  69. Mac disk to use), or data (use this if you want the file to make some

  72. Disclaimer -
  73.   Reading from Mac disks shouldn't cause any problems, but writing is
  74. a bit different. We've emulated how a Mac writes to a Mac disk as closely
  75. as possible in these shareware versions. The DOS version works a bit better
  76. than the Windows version. But please note that we take no responsibility
  77. in the event of something going awry while using this software. This
  78. is part of the cause for releasing a commercial version of this program.
  79. This will hopefully give us the financial means to support this software
  80. and keep our customers informed of new upgrades. There will be no upgrades
  81. to this shareware version so if you like it then please consider MacSEE 3.0.

  83. MacSEE 3.0 -
  84.   As indicated MacSEE 3.0 (a commercial version of MacSEE) will be
  85. available in early March 1993. It will retail for $79.95. If you've
  86. already registered a copy of MacSEE OR own another Mac to DOS transfer
  87. utility contact us about special upgrade offers. MacSEE 3.0 supports file
  88. deletion, renaming, creating folders, and formatting Mac disks. It
  89. supports more file translation modes including Text and it fixes some
  90. of the limitations set within the Shareware versions of MacSEE.
  91. Included are both DOS and Windows versions in one package. To order
